CURRICULUM VITAE OF BINIE VER LIPPS, PH. D.

Binie (Ver) Lipps received her Ph. D. in Microbiolgy in 1965 from the University of Bombay/the Haffkine Institute. She was awarded Doctor Khanolkar’s award for young scientist for the best publication of the year 1965, from All India Association of Pathologists. Before coming to the US in 1966, to join Baylor College of Medicine as a post doctoral fellow, she had eleven publications to her credit. Thereafter, she served as a research scientist at Rice University. She earned teaching experience at Texas Southern and Texas Women universities. Besides these academic positions she worked for two biotechnology companies, Tanox Biosystems and KVM Technology. All these positions were in Houston.

In 1991 Binie with her physicist husband Frederick Lipps founded a small biotechnology company, Ophidia Products, Inc. In seventeen years of its operation they have developed several therapeutics for the treatment of various diseases/disorders. She and her husband jointly have a dozen patents; nine are awarded. The therapeutic ADESH is acquired by the Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Lipps has many publications in peer reviewed journals. She was an invited speaker to Netherlands in 2002, for the 6th European Symposium on saliva and to Maui, Hawaii in 2003 for John A. Boswick, M. D. Burn and Wound Care Symposium. She presented research at IBC conferences in Boston and Hyderabad India in 2008.
