LT-10 TREATMENT for IgE IMPLICATED DISORDERS and Intoxications caused by animal, plant and bacterial toxins

Lethal Toxin Neutralizing Factor (LTNF), isolated from opossum serum having mol. wt 63.5 kDa, is a potent antidote for animal, plant and bacterial toxins (US patent 5,576, 297, 1996). The active domain of natural LTNF was identified, isolated and sequenced. After drug discovery technique, a synthetic peptide consisting of ten amino acids was constructed called LT-10, having sequence from the N-terminal: L K A M D P T P P L. Synthetic LT-10 is proved to be an antidote for toxins derived from animal, plant-ricin and bacteria similar to the natural LTNF, from opossum serum. (US patent 5,744,449, 1998).

Normal adults have 0.2 to 1.0 mg % of IgE. IgE is considered to be like an allergen. Allergic diseases are caused by adverse immune response to allergens. IgE is implicated in asthma because asthma patients show high levels of IgE. Our research has revealed that high level of IgE is implicated in: 1. Type II diabetes; 2. Depression; 3. Various types of Autoimmune diseases; 4. Asthma; 5. Chronic wounds and burns; and 6. adverse side effects and resistance to cancer therapy.

It was revealed that the level of IgE in patients of these disorders is several times higher than the control normal individuals. We further found that A. patients showing elevated level of IgE, showed higher concentration of myoglobin, which, may be prone to have high blood pressure. B. Patients having high level of IgE, showed elevated glucose, are diagnosed as diabetes. C. Patients of autoimmune disease showed high level of nerve growth factor (NGF), which may be causing neuropathy.

Genentech Corp. has developed monoclonal antibody (Mono anti-IgE) named Xolair as a treatment for asthma to lower the concentration of IgE, only for people over 12 years of age. Elevated levels of IgE are implicated in several disorders. The proposed treatment with LT-10 lowers the concentration of IgE (PCT /US03/01044) ).

We propose continuous treatment with LT-10 in order to maintain normal IgE level. Mast cells persist for a long period of time and secrete IgE under environmental conditions, emotional stress, or exercise, etc. LT-10 treatment lowers the IgE level and encourages the homeostasis of other proteins.

Currently, anti-venoms produced in horses provide the only available treatment for snakebites, in spite of the fact that some people are hypersensitive to horse proteins. LT-10 is proved to be an antidote for toxins derived from animal, plant and bacteria. LT-10 shows a property of binding to toxin and by doing so demolishes its toxicity. LT-10 bids to IgE similar way as to the toxins and lowers its concentration. LT-10 is the greatest discovery after penicillin. LT-10 treatment will have impact on the diseases/disorders of which etiology is not known.
